Grapevine Canyon It’s not the Grand Canyon but it is close to Las Vegas. Grapevine Canyon is located near Laughlin, about an hour from Las Vegas, and it is home to Native American rock art and some pretty desert views. To reach the canyon, take I-15 north from Las Vegas to US 95 South. Just after Searchlight, take a left at the Laughlin cut-off and continue to mile marker 13. Turn left on Christmas Tree Pass onto a gravel road and continue for two miles. Park rangers take guided walks out to see the petroglyphs, which are well worth a view. Be sure to bring water for this hike, though; there is no drinking water available (and you’re going to need it!) For more information, give the Laughlin Visitors Center a call, Tel. 800/452-8445. There is no admission to the park. |
