Las Vegas Parks for Families

Las Vegas may seem like a world of concrete and neon but there’s a natural side beyond the glitter. Parks, sporting areas, and plenty of places to play and picnic await families. If you’re like most people, you probably picture Las Vegas as a world of concrete and casinos, not ballfields and picnic grounds. Well, Las Vegas is home to plenty of residents who look for weekend fun with their kids, and there are numerous parks in the area that you can enjoy as well. Here’s a listing of several parks where you’ll find a break from the hustle and bustle of the Strip and chance for a quiet picnic:

Alexander Villas Park, 3620 Lincoln Road: This park has a picnic area as well as basketball courts and other facilities. 

Davis Park, 2796 Redwood St.: This park includes picnic grounds as well as a playground.

Desert Bloom Park, 8405 S. Maryland Parkway: look for picnic grounds as well as playgrounds, basketball courts, and more here.

Desert Breeze Park, 8425 Spring Mountain Road: You’ll find playgrounds as well as skateboarding area and basketball courts here.

Grapevine Springs Park, 5480 Palm: This park includes picnic areas and playgrounds.

Hidden Palms Park, 8855 Hidden Palms Pkwy.: Look for picnic grounds as well as a playground, tennis courts, and basketball courts here.

Horseman’s Park, 5800 E. Flamingo Rd.: This park includes picnic grounds.

Laurelwood Park, 4300 Newcastle Rd.: Picnic areas as well as playgrounds, tennis courts, and basketball fields are available here.

Lewis Family Park, 1970 Tree Line Drive: This extensive park has picnic grounds, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, and more.

Lone Mountain Park, 4445 N. Jensen: Picnic, let the kids enjoy the playground or skateboard and rollerblade in a specially designated area.

Magdalena’s Vegas Mountain Park, 4580 Vegas Valley Drive: This park offers a picnic area.

Maslow Park, 4902 Lana Drive: Picnic grounds, playgrounds, a swimming pool, and more are offered here.

Paul Meyer Park, 4525 New Forest Drive: This park includes picnicking, playgrounds, tennis, and more.

Nellis Meadows Park, 4949 E. Cheyenne Avenue: This park offers picnicking, playgrounds, and ball fields.

Paradise Park, 4770 S. Harrison Drive: This park includes picnic areas, horseshoe pits, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and more.

Paradise Vista Park, 5582 Stirrup Street: Picnicking, horseshoe pits, and playgrounds are found here.

Parkdale Park, 3200 Ferndale Street: Here you’ll find picnicking, playgrounds, a swimming pool, basketball courts, and more.

Prosperity Park, 7101 Parasol Lane: Look for picnic grounds, playgrounds, and basketball courts here.

Shadow Rock Park, 2650 Los Feliz: Picnicking, playgrounds, and ballfields here.

Silver Bowl Sports Complex, 6800 E. Russell Road: This extensive park includes picnic grounds, playgrounds, and special features like radio controlled air field and car track.

Sunrise Park, 2240 Linn Lane: Look for picnic grounds, playgrounds, swimming pool, basketball courts, and more here.

Sunset Park and Lake, 2601 E. Sunset Road: This extensive park has picnicking, playgrounds, swimming pool, tennis, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, a course for disc golf, radio controlled boating, and more.

Whitney Park, 5700 Missouri: Look for a swimming pool, picnicking, playgrounds, tennis, and more here.
